Staff have been working diligently to ensure that safety and health precautions are in place for the Tuesday, August 4 re-opening.
Patrons should expect a different experience as staff ensure that physical distancing requirements can be maintained. The Aquatic Centre will provide opportunities for public swims, aquafit, lane swims, parent and tot swims, leisure swims and swimming lessons. Swim lessons will be offered in either private/semi private formats, or alternatively, staff can teach a family or social bubble group.
During this initial phase of opening, pool visitors can expect the following:
All patrons must pre-register online for swims. Registration will not be accepted in person, those entering the facility must already be registered for a program
Only those registered in programs can enter the Aquatic Centre
Anyone entering the Sportsplex must wear a mask. Face coverings can be removed just before entering the pool
When participants arrive at the Sportsplex, they must check in with staff. Participants will be screened during the registration process, and again when they enter the facility
On deck viewing is limited to a maximum of 1 person per family group for swimmers under 18 or anyone requiring assistance
Change rooms are available for washroom use only. Please arrive dressed in bathing attire and desired cover up
Staff will be enforcing physical distancing on deck and in the pool
One essential change that has been made is that pre-registration for any session MUST take place prior to entering the facility. Participants can register online 7 days in advance of the program.
Although our aquatics facility is open, there are many guidelines and safety measures that have been put in place to ensure the safety and well-being of your family and our residents. Click here to review the Township's Guidelines for pool users during COVID-19.
