Hi, Thank you for your time.
I have many, many questions about the proposed by-law. However, for the sake of brevity here’s just a few:
1. This is a crucial document that determines the process of democracy or lack there-of for our community. Why wasn’t a public notice published in the newspaper asking for input or at least to direct people to the website for input as per the customary procedure for notifying the public of their opportunity to provide input or express concerns regarding decisions and recommendations that are to be presented to council? I even subscribe to receive notices from the township, but I received nothing about this?
2. Can you please provide your source material for the structure and creation for the By-Law and the justification for using it?
3. Can you please pause any proceedings until more public input has been submitted by way of a public meeting that has been set at a reasonable time frame with better notification for people to read, comprehend, research and then provide input to the structure of the by-law in a transparent democratic way? It appears that although this document may have been in the process of writing for some time, there seems to be an uncomfortable push to get it rushed through and accepted in a “last minute” fashion. The final vote is next year. You want to make sure that it is for the benefit of the people right? So why rush it? Please take the time to make the document excellent and be willing to allow the democratic process to prevail and benefit the community.
In conclusion:
Please do the right thing, for the sake of transparency: Publish a notice in the paper outlining the purpose and implications of the proposed changes to the procedural by-law.
Allow more time for informed public input.
Let us work together to create a better community that allows democracy to flourish. Let us not sacrifice democracy on the altar of perceived bureaucratic efficiency. It’s not always about efficiency; it’s about doing what is good and right and doing what benefits the community at large isn't it.
Thank you
Dean

Hi there. There was an ad placed in the November 5 publication of the Wellington Advertiser to notify residents that they can have a say in this important matter. I have passed on all of your concerns to staff to be included in the ad hoc committee review. Thank you.

HI Kerri. Just emailed you asking to be part of a delegation on this. I share Steve Kitras concerns, but also no one is mentioning the proposed 5 minute rule. Thanks!
