Skate, bike or scooter over to the official ribbon cutting for the new Elora skatepark! Join us on Saturday, October 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Elora Community Centre to celebrate this new exciting BMX and skatepark, featuring live demonstrations, music, snacks and prizes.

Background:

At the June 18, 2018 Council meeting, Council approved the allocation of $203,296 from MacDonald Trust Funds for the design and construction of the skatepark, as requested by the application submitted by the Skatepark Association. Donations raised by the Skatepark Association, in addition to the MacDonald Trust Funds allocated, and approved Township funds have been combined to represent the total budget to build the skatepark.

Through an agreement between the Township and the Skatepark Association, the project is underway. Newline Skateparks have been hired to design and build the skatepark.

The first public meeting took place on Tuesday, February 12 and offered the community an opportunity to view options for the skatepark.

The second public meeting took place on Wednesday, March 20. The meeting offered an opportunity for Newline Skateparks to present three current design options based off feedback acquired from the first public meeting. At this public meeting, residents were encouraged to "vote" on their preferred option.
