Let’s Stay Connected!

We are excited to offer FREE online programming to our Victoria Park Seniors Centre community through Zoom.

We are offering virtual and call-in programming. To access these programs, either click the appropriate link to connect on Zoom with video or call the listed phone number for audio only.

  • Connecting over Zoom: Click the link for the program you wish to participate in at the scheduled time. Follow the prompts on screen to open Zoom in your browser. For step-by-step instructions, watch this video. If this is your first time using Zoom, give yourself an extra 5 to 10 minutes to make sure you have Zoom up and running correctly.   • Connecting over the phone: Call the number for the program you wish to join at the scheduled time. When prompted, enter the Meeting ID number followed by #.
  • If you need help connecting either by phone or online, you can contact Frank Irvine (VPSC Computer Instructor) 519-831-4278

Chair Yoga with Guided Meditation, Monday's at 10 a.m. until July 27
Join in this accessible practice to calm your body and mind. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with community in the safety of your home. We will use a chair for some gentle mindful movements to relax tensions and open the body. Then we will sit for a guided practice to release stress and agitation from the mind. This practice is open to all. No experience with yoga or meditation are needed. Instructor: Jill Davey. Mondays from 10 to 10:30 a.m., ending July 27. Join anytime.

Fit Bones Fitness Classes
Join us three times a week for a 30 minute exercise program, designed specifically for older adults. You need a sturdy chair (without arms if possible). Options given for hand weights if you have them. Instructor Kelly Offer will focus on the basics so everyone can participate.

Get information about fraud prevention and how to make more informed financial decisions. Staff from the Investor Office of the Ontario Securities Commission will share information on COVID-19 related scams, common frauds and scams, warning signs of fraud, questions to ask before you invest and who to contact if you suspect fraud. Interested in Drawing?
Do you enjoy drawing? Missing your art classes at the Centre? Our art instructor, Jim O’Haire, has volunteered to offer a weekly drawing lesson via email which I will forward to anyone who is interested. Just let me know kmorgan@centrewellington.ca and I will make sure information is sent to you. Hints, tips, refresher lessons - all to motivate you to start or continue to draw!

Blanket Project
Do you knit or crochet? Interested in contributing while staying safe at home in this time of physical distancing? Why not help us create blankets! Knit or crochet squares, 6 inches by 6 inches, with extra yarn you may have at home. Squares can be any colour. After physical distancing rules are lifted we will get together to put them together. We hope to donate blankets once completed. Contact kmorgan@centrewellington.ca for the pattern.
