Belwood Hall is a Township of Centre Wellington-owned facility, originally constructed in the 1870s. Situated on the edge of Belwood Lake in downtown Belwood, this community-use building includes a hall with a stage, kitchen, washrooms, and storage areas.

As the Township continues to experience significant growth, Belwood Hall remains a vital community resource. However, the facility is in need of lifecycle investment to prevent deterioration, extend its operational lifespan, and improve accessibility in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

Project Update - April 21, 2026

Construction at Belwood Hall is scheduled to begin on April 27, 2026. For safety reasons, the site will be closed during this time, and the public is asked to avoid the area and surrounding grounds while work is underway.

The renovation will deliver the full scope of improvements, including:

  • Enhanced accessibility at the main entrance, including a new universal washroom
  • Full interior renovation of the main hall, servery, and washrooms
  • HVAC and electrical system upgrades, including the addition of air conditioning
  • Installation of a new on-site sewage system

Belwood Hall has long served as a vital community hub, and this investment represents a significant milestone for Belwood residents and the broader Township. These improvements will help ensure the facility remains accessible, functional, and welcoming for years to come.
